loved one's diet. It is healthy and satisfying and you will benefit from
the antioxidants (berries), omega-3's and fiber
(flax meal), potassium (banana) and the numerous benefits of spinach (to
name a few - vitamin K, A, C, B2, B6, E, folate, iron, calcium,
potassium & fiber). Also by combining the berries (Vitamin C) with
the spinach (iron) you are allowing for more absorption of iron from the
spinach.Trust me kids will love this combination just with this visual presentation and it will be gone in a minute.
Recipe:
Vegan Spinach Berry Flax seed Smoothie
Ingredients
- 3 handfuls of fresh spinach
- 1 C Mixed Berries, fresh / frozen

1/2 a ripe Banana

1 table spoon local Honey (optional)

1 tsp Ginger juice
-
1 tsp fresh Lemon Zest
-
1 Tbsp ground Flaxseed
-
1/2 cup filtered water
-
Crushed Ice
Directions:
- Combine berries, banana, ginger juice honey (if using ) in a blender.
(Since berries have their juice, there is no need for water, but if needed
you can use half the water now, easing out the blending process). Pulse on the ice crush option until the berries & banana are mostly blended, then put on puree for about 2 minutes or until smooth. Pour it in glasses.
- Now add spinach, grounded flax seed lemon zest and filtered water and repeat the above step. Pour it in glass over the berry smoothie.
