In the article below are given some ideas for controlling the high cholesterol level.

Home Remedies To Lower Cholesterol

Garlic (lasuna)
Garlic is very effective in reducing the cholesterol level as it increases the High Density Lipoproteins (HDL) and decreases the Low Density Lipoproteins (LDL). It also greatly reduces the lipids in the body. Take one clove of garlic a day and after a period of twelve weeks, the cholesterol level would have decreased considerably.

Vitamin B3 (Niacin)
Niacin has been found to significantly decrease the triglycerides and increase the High Density Lipoproteins. Instead of taking vitamin B3 capsules, it is better to take a diet rich in it. You can increase the niacin intake by taking a diet of milk, green leafy vegetables, sweet potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, whole grains and legumes & dont forget sesame seeds..

Coriander Seeds
Take a glass of water and add two tablespoons of coriander seeds to it. Set it to a boil and after that strain and leave it for cooling. Drink this two times a day.

Fenugreek Seeds
Take two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in a glass of water and keep it overnight. Strain it and drink the mixture in an empty stomach in the morning. The recommended daily intake of fenugreek seeds should be around 56 grams. Studies have shown that fenugreek seeds reduce the cholesterol level by 14%, after a period of twenty four weeks.
